Carmelite Sisters of St Teresa (CSST) Education envisages a ‘life-oriented education’ that empowers students through a humanizing and liberative process, enabling them to be agents of transformation and development at different levels of life. Our educational institutions act as models of empowerment, justice, participation, service, and solidarity, where the staff and students have a lived experience of the ‘new society’, we envision. We prepare students to face the world with moral, spiritual, and social values and to combat enormous external pressures. In turn, students exercise their freedom to be human and work for the integrity of the creation and for the empowerment of the marginalized sections of society. The thrust is in the light of ‘Civilization of Love’- the Kingdom of God – envisaged and promoted by our Foundress, the Servant of God, Mother Teresa of St. Rose of Lima.

It is with immense joy and gratitude that I place these words of blessings in the portal of your webpage as a member of the Christ College Management Council and the CSST General Councillor for Education. Christ College, Shillong, has stood as a beacon of academic excellence and holistic education in Meghalaya, guided by the Charism and Vision of the Congregation of the Carmelite Sisters of St Teresa (CSST) for the past three years. It was a cherished dream of the CSST Institute to reach out to the North Eastern Region of India with our higher education ministry.

In today’s rapidly changing world, higher education is not merely about acquiring knowledge but about nurturing values, fostering critical thinking, and preparing individuals to be compassionate global citizens. Christ College is committed to providing a learning environment that inspires and equips every student to excel in academics while imbibing the core values of service, integrity, and inclusivity.
