Christ College, Shillong
Christ College, owned and managed by the Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa (CSST), begins its journey dedicated to quality value-based education in 2022. Initiated and launched by the Trust for the Advancement of Philosophy for children-India (TAPC) in 2021, the college is affiliated to North East Hill University (NEHU). Approved by the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Meghalaya, and the Archdiocese of Shillong, Christ College seeks to cater to the needs of the youth of North East India, particularly of Meghalaya.Christ College in the long run aspires to extend its services globally.
The Institute of the Carmelite Sisters of St Teresa (CSST), was founded on 24th April 1887 by Servant of God Mother Teresa of St. Rose of Lima in the town of Ernakulam in Kerala. CSST has over the decades strived to build educational institutions of excellence as it strongly believes in the power of Education in building an equitable society. Well known higher educational institutions like St. Teresa’s College, Autonomous, Kochi, Kerala, Mount Carmel College Autonomous, Bengaluru, Teresian College, Mysore and Sacred Heart College, Villupuram, Tamil Nadu which CSST administers is a reflection of the exemplary work of the congregation in higher education. CSST now seeks to make a difference in the higher education space in the North-East part of the country with the establishment of Christ College in the land of clouds, Meghalaya.
